Chainlink fencing to provide safe spaces on Ash Common
The Ash Ranges, a significant area of open dry heathland, is owned by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. This area is home to beautiful and rare plants and animals, but it is also an active military area and firing range. To make it clearer to the public where it is safe and unsafe to walk, PRO Fencing was brought on board to supply and install chainlink fencing in Surrey.
This is PRO’s second successful project for Surrey Wildlife Trust, having won a tender that had been sent to five fencing companies based in the South East. The purpose here was to create a walking corridor through part of Ash Common, ensuring walkers do not accidentally stray into areas used as MoD firing ranges. This second phase began in the second week of January and was completed in late February, with a slight delay due to the ranges being in frequent use.
Following the completion of the project, Ash Common is now a safer space for all users.
Often used for school fencing, sporting grounds, or commercial property, chainlink fencing is a popular choice for a professional, functional, and lightweight solution to zone off an area.
