ESTIMATOR
Job Summary:
This position will be moving to our offices in Petworth, West Sussex in August 2025.
Reporting to the office manager, you will have a number of responsibilities and duties including:
• To interpret customer requirements from verbal/written information and drawings, and create and produce accurate estimates for a variety of products.
• Review project specifications and drawings to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
• Ensure estimates are completed in a timely manner and update clients/practices as needed.
• Assist sales representatives in the preparation of detailed quotations and tenders.
• Work closely with clients and suppliers to clarify details and ensure all aspects of the job are covered.
• Use estimating software and spreadsheets to maintain accurate quotations.
• Answering telephones, replying to e-mails, looking after visitors Invoicing, processing purchase orders.
• Taking and processing payments
• Following up past estimates and enquiries
• Booking deliveries, quoting on carriage charges
• Interacting with manager and carrying out their requests
• Undertaking all administrative tasks, ensuring the rest of the team have adequate support to work efficiently
• Photocopying, scanning, filing documents as and when needed
• Attending occasional trade shows
• Keeping workplace tidy, undertaking general office duties
• Co-operating with yard team and drivers
• Maintaining an in-depth understanding of the companies products/services to advise and make suitable recommendations
• Resolving customer complaints and concerns
Qualifications and Skills required :
• 1-2 years of experience in an estimating role.
• Computer literacy with good typing skills (desirable).
• Good telephone manner
• Good work ethic, taking pride in your work
• Highly organised
• Flexible approach and friendly personality
• Punctual and with good attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work

Education:
• GCSE or equivalent (required)
